Lates Website
The Lates Website is owned and controlled by the Greater London Authority (“the GLA”). The GLA is committed to ensuring the privacy of all visitors to www.lates.org (“the Website”). This Privacy Policy explains how we use the information we collect about you whilst you use the Website, how you can instruct us if you prefer to limit the use of that information and procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy. This Privacy Policy only covers the Website and does not cover any third party website to which we may provide links.
1. The information we collect and how we use it
The GLA collects personal information from you in several ways whilst you use the Website:
1.1 Information provided by you
When you register with the Website we will need to know your name and email address in order to process your registration.
The GLA will use the information provided by you in order to send you updates on the information on events and promotions related to the Website. The GLA may also use the information in order to improve and develop the Website and the services provided by the GLA as a whole and may ask you to complete questionnaires regarding your use of the Website and attendance at the events detailed on the Website.
The GLA shall not use your personal information for any purposes not stated when we collect the information, or in this Privacy Policy, without your consent.
1.2 Electronic collection of Information
If you are a user with general public and anonymous access, the Website does not store or capture your personal information, but logs the Internet Protocol (“IP”) address of your computer.
The GLA collects statistics using electronic methods relating to your use of the Website and these are used to help the GLA follow browsing preferences and improve future use of the Website. These statistics do not include any information that can be used to identify any individual.
2 How we protect your information
2.1 The internet is not a secure medium and it is important that you are aware that any information sent via the internet may be intercepted. If you send any information using the feedback forms, questionnaires or via email this will not be sent using a secure transmission method and may be read by others.
2.2 Any personal information collected by the GLA shall be held and processed securely using appropriate procedures and all staff and agents processing personal data are aware of their obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998. The GLA shall only hold personal information for as long as necessary in order to fulfill the purpose for collecting the information.
2.3 The GLA may transfer the management of the Website to a third party and in such an event you agree to your information being transferred/and or processed by the third party. The GLA shall ensure that any organisation managing the Website is contractually obliged to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and this Privacy Policy.
3. Updating your details
If any of the information that you have provided to us changes, for example if you change your e-mail address or if you would like us to stop processing your personal information, please let us know by sending an e-mail to culturalcampaigns@london.gov.uk or by sending a letter to Lates, PP25, GLA, City Hall, Queen’s Walk, More London, SE1 2AA.
4. Your consent
4.1 By submitting your information you consent to the use of that information as set out in this Privacy Policy. If we change our Privacy Policy we will post the changes on this page, and may place notices on other pages of the Website, so that you may be aware of the information we collect and how we use it at all times. Continued use of the service will signify that you agree to any such changes.
4.2 Owing to the global nature of the Internet infrastructure, the information you provide may be transferred in transit to countries outside the European Economic Area that do not have similar protections in place regarding your data and its use as set out in this policy. However, we have taken the steps outlined above to try to improve the security of your information. By submitting your information you consent to these transfers.
5. Crime prevention and detection
The GLA may use personal information provided by you to detect and prevent crime and may disclose the information to the police where it believes that such information would assistance police investigations.
